Honeywell LYNX Touch L5100 : DIY How to Back Door your Wireless Control Panel?

A common mistake diyers make while using there Honeywell LYNX Touch L5100 wireless security system is they access the programming mode and end up locking themselves out when done. This occurs because when exiting programming mode the system will always ask you if you would like the installer to access programming mode again. Typically you are suppose to say yes and than back out. Some people tend to rush through programming and end up saying no. This will not allow you to get back into programming mode. Well this video will show you how you can correct this issue.

As the video shows you want to make sure your system’s back up battery is unplugged. Once this has been completed you than want to unplug the transformer for a few seconds. Go ahead an plug the transformer back into the outlet. The system will go through a start up procedure this is normal. Once the system loads you will see the red standby notice at the top of the screen. At the time you see this hold down the unlock key for three seconds, once the system begins beeping hold down the unlock key for an additional 3 seconds you will notice the digital keypad pops up. From this point you will enter clear 0,0 at this point your system will take you to the area where you enter programming. Now you should be able to select program if it has let you do this you have completed to the process successfully! Just make sure anytime in the future when leaving programming mode that you always say yes to allow installer back into programming!

Honeywell L5000DM Easy Desk Mount for LYNX Touch L5000, L5100, and L5200

Honeywell L5000DM

Honeywell L5000DM

The Honeywell L5000DM is a desk mount stand which is compatible with all LYNX Touch L5000, L5100, and L5200 wireless security systems. This accessory makes an installation very simple especially for the novice diyer. Typically most end users tend to install the wireless security system on the wall by drilling holes and using anchors to support the system.

The L5000DM makes an install a breeze because it basically replaces the stock back plate which the LYNX Touch series panels come with and uses this as its back plate.  If you are looking for a top quality alarm system with a very simple install than this is for you. This feature does not hinder any security features of any sort. The best way to make your alarm system full proof of course would be by adding our Professional alarm monitoring or our Professional interactive alarm monitoring along with APL protection.

 Honeywell’s APL “Advanced Protection Logic”

Hey Everyone Brad Finger here with GEOARM Security. Today we will be talking about Honeywell’s proprietary APL or (Advance Protection Logic.) which is available with LYNX Touch and LYNX Plus L3000 Wireless Security systems. The L3000 must have a revision number of 21.10 or higher to utilize this feature.
Now,In most homes people will set there most frequent points of entry on delay mode. This is where you enter your home and the system gives you around 30 seconds to disarm before it goes into an alarm. Since the brains of the system are all consolidated into the panel there is a risk in placing your panel near one of these delayed zones. If an intruder was to break into your home through one of these delay zones they could run in, grab the system, and either smash it or throw it in a bucket of water rendering the system. Luckily with professional monitoring through GEOARM and the activation of the APL your system will send a ping to our central monitoring station every time one of these delay doors is opened letting us know the system is ok. Once you enter your 4 digit disarm pass code we will receive another signal letting us know you have disarmed your system and it is still in tact. If we don’t receive this final ping we will than treat it as an alarm and reach out to the emergency contact list provided by the client and dispatch if protocol calls for that. In our opinion this feature is a very important feature to activate on your system.
