You wont want to use a master or user code. Here you will want to enter your installer code which by default is 4112. So go ahead and enter that code once it is entered you will see a screen prompt up. From this menu you will be selecting the program button which will get you into programming. From programming select keys because we are working with a keyfob. As of right now we dont have anything programmed so go ahead and select add new. This page will have an area to select how many buttons your keyfob has. For this case we are using the 5834-2 so click the button until you see 2 button. To the left of the key type button you want to click the user box so we can assign a user for these purposes we will select master. Now you are going to want to learn in the key fobs serial number. So select serial number from this page you will be pressing the actual button on the key fob. We like to use button 1 which is located in the top left of your key fob. Just as a heads up we will be pressing the disarm button in the intervals. Go ahead an press the button once the system will beep to acknoledge. The second time you press the disarm button it will produce the loop number and serial number verify that these are both correct and make sure to use your 5834-2 installer guide that comes inside the Honeywell box. Once these have been verified press the button once more time to seal this information into your panel. Go through the menu and make sure you have the key fob programmed the way you would like. If the information is all correct select save and back out to the home screen. Test your key fobs button to ensure proper programming and as you can see ours works so we are all set.

Honeywell L5200: DIY How to Reset the Installer Code?

A common mistake diyers make while using there Honeywell LYNX Touch L5200 wireless security system is they access the programming mode and end up locking themselves out when done. This occurs because when exiting programming mode the system will always ask you if you would like the installer to access programming mode again. Typically you are supposed to say yes and then back out. Some people tend to rush through programming and end up saying no. This will not allow you to get back into programming mode.  This video will show you how you can correct this issue. As the video shows you want to make sure your system’s back up battery is unplugged. Once this has been completed you than want to unplug the transformer for a few seconds. Go ahead and plug the transformer back into the outlet. The system will go through a startup procedure this is normal. Once the system loads you will see the red standby notice at the top of the screen. At the time you see this hold down the unlock key for three seconds,  you will notice the digital keypad pops up. From this point you will enter clear 0,0 at this point your system will take you to the area where you enter programming. Now you should be able to select program, if it allows you to do this you have completed the process successfully! Just make sure anytime in the future when leaving programming mode that you always say yes to allow installer back into programming!

Honeywell LYNX Touch L5200: How to Wire the Transformer to the Wireless Security System?

Today we will show you how to wire the transformer into the Honeywell LYNX Touch L5200 wireless security system. You will need the L5200 transformer, the alarm panel itself, a 22 gauge by 2 wire, and lastly a flat head screw driver. Depress the two tabs on the top of the system, be very careful laying the system down because you do not want to damage the 4.7 inch touch screen display. You will see both ends of the wire will be prepared differently. The end that is meant to get wired into the transformer will have less conduit exposed and more of the actual copper exposed. With the extra copper exposed you will see that you than want to take the ends and make two hooks with the ends, this will help you when you wrap them around the screws on the transformer. The other end of the wire will be going through the back mounting plate. On this side of the wire you will see their is more of the conduit exposed and less copper, this is so when you place the wire ends into the terminals there is less of a chance to have any copper exposed which could short your panel out. After you have place the red wire around the positive terminal on the transformer go ahead and do the same for the black wire to the negative terminal on the transformer You can go ahead and place the transformer down for the time being. Now go ahead and run the wire through the area as shown on the video and wire the red wire into the 9vdc this is where your red wire will go and GND is where your black wire will go. Now close your system up make sure the two depressions snap together and your all ready to give your wireless security system power!
