7847i-L – Honeywell AlarmNet Broadband Internet Alarm Communicator (for LYNX Plus L3000 Wireless security system) has been discontinued – GEOARM

Here at GEOARM we have received word that the 7847i-l for the LYNX Plus L3000 Wireless Broadband Internet Security System has been Discontinued and will not be available for purchase anymore. There has not been any exact reasoning as to why manufacturing of this product has seized. One thing we can think of  is with the evolution of Wi-Fi this 7847i-l may have become obsolete. A downside of this communicator was also that when you used this device you could not do dual path alarm monitoring which is where you would use the internet as the primary communication path and the cellular communicator as the backup mode of communication. Now when purchasing a LYNX Plus L3000 Wireless Security system there will only be two communication paths either via landline/voip or through a GSMVLP-4G which is the cell communicator that is meant for this system.

The Honeywell L5100 wireless security system has been discontinued.

The Honeywell LYNX Touch L5100 Security System has been Discontinued.

They say nothing lasts forever, well in this case it’s absolutely true. The Honeywell LYNX L5100 wireless security system has seen its final day. Honeywell has discontinued the manufacturing of the this security system for good. For all of those you that can remember the 5100 model was used to replace the original L5000 LYNX Touch security system. Though the 5000 panel meant well there were quite a few knocks on the panel. The 5000 system had issues with the touchscreen calibration making it difficult for the consumer to navigate the interface, there were also hardware and software issues that would at times leave the system unusable. Then there was the release of the L5100 system which not only fixed the errors of the previous system but,  also changed the future of wireless security technology by adding the Honeywell L5100 Z-wave wireless home automation module. With this being said Geoarm security wishes the L5100 system a fond farewell.
