 Honeywell ZWSTAT – Remote Thermostat Control for Honeywell LYNX and Vista Control Panels

The Honeywell ZWSTAT aka TH8320ZW1000 is a z-wave enabled home or business thermostat. The ZWSTAT is compatible with all z-wave enabled systems. This product is also, compatible with certain Honeywell Vista wired security systems “as long as it has a VAM module and a 5800ZBRIDGE attached to it”. The ZWSTAT will also be compatible with the LYNX Plus L3000 wireless security system “as long as it has the 5800ZBRIDGE attached”. Along with the previous systems this thermostat works best with the all new LYNX Touch L5100, L5200 , and L7000 wireless security system’s by simply adding the L5100 z-wave module to the control panel.

Once your system is set up to utilize this ZWSTAT thermostat the features are extremely useful.  When you integrate the ZWSTAT to your alarm system it will be able to provide automatic energy management.  For example lets say on a typical day you are  leaving the house and you arm your alarm system. The ZWSTAT thermostat along with your alarm system will be smart enough to know that you are leaving so it will turn the air conditioning or heater off to conserve energy . The same goes for when you arrive home, when you disarm the system it will understand you have arrived home and will set the air conditioning or heater back on bringing your home back to a comfortable level.

Yet another cool feature of this ZWSTAT is the adaptive intelligent recovery feature. The thermostat is able to learn exactly how long it takes your air conditioning or heater unit to cool or heat your house to the programmed temperature.In other words let say you want your home to be at 76 degrees at 6pm. The air conditioning unit will turn on at the appropriate time to get the houses temperature to 76 degrees by that time.

Have you ever been in a situation where employees or roommates place the resting temperature either way to high or low? The ZWSTAT can solve that problem by simply allowing the end user to set a maximum or minimum temperature. This is an excellent feature because it never allows your system to over work itself and of course it will save you alot of money on your electric bill. The ZWSTAT even has a feature that can remind you when it is time to change your air filter to allow your system to run at optimum efficiency. Lastly the air circulation feature will basically move air tthroughoutyour home or business anytime your ac or heater is not in use to save energy to prevent hot and cold spots.

The ZWSTAT is easily programmed using the touchscreen display. This is where you can set up all the different features we have introduced you to today. With the systems I listed above you can use 4 thermostats on either the 5800ZBRIDGE or the L5100 Z-WAVE controller.

 Honeywell GSM-ANT3DB AlarmNet Weatherproof Remote GSM Antenna

The Honeywell GSM-ANT3DB is a weatherproof remote external GSM cellular antenna that is compatible with an array of AlarmNet cellular alarm monitoring communicators and dual path alarm monitoring communicators. The Honeywell GSM-ANT3Db has a higher gain (3dBi) than the standard GSM antenna of an AlarmNet cellular alarm communicator’s so that means three times the signal strength! We recommend adding the Honeywell GSM-ANT3dB if your AlarmNet cellular alarm communicator is checking in outside of the acceptable range. If that is happening, your Honeywell keypad would be showing a 103 fault.

There are three different extension cable options which are not included when purchasing the GSM-ANT3DB alone but, you can purchase one of these three kits to mount , depending on how long of a cable you need   5 ’, 25’, or 50’ from your AlarmNet cellular alarm communicator. The versatile, weatherproof design of the GSM-ANT3dB allows you to install the GSM3DB inside or outside so that you can get the optimal cellular signal strength for your monitored security system.

We have also noticed that a lot of people feel that the Honeywell GSM-ANT3Db is not a compatible addition to the Honeywell LYNX touch series panels that is not the case. All you would have to do is just add the GSM-EXT adapter.

 Alarm.com ADC-POE-INJ Power-Over-Ethernet for Wired Security Cameras

The Alarm.com ADC-V700X outdoor day/night IP security camera is PoE-compatible, allowing it to be powered by the Ethernet cable if connected to the ADC-POE-INJ power-over-ethernet (PoE) injector installed at the network router. When installing the ADC-V700X with this PoE injector, the outdoor security camera’s power socket wire and AC power adapter are not used, since it derives power from its Ethernet connection to the PoE power injector instead. This allows you to run only one wire back from the camera to the router, without worrying about a power cable.

The CDMA TG-1 Express is an ideal primary residential solution for areas where cellular coverage may be challenging. Based on the same proven, flexible features and functionality of the TG-1 Express for 3G/4G networks, the CDMA version helps reduce cost and Installation time in just about every application.

The UL listed TG-1 Express CDMA uses the power and backup battery of the security panel eliminating the need for an available wall outlet. The unit also features a unique way to connect to the panel for instances when the communicator needs to be installed remotely. The Single Line Interface Cable (SLIC) allows the power and telephony connection to be sent over a single CAT5 cable, similar to how computer networks use Power over Ethernet (PoE). With the SLIC option installers can now remotely mount the TG-1 Express CDMA without being limited by the availability of power or the expense of an RF cable run.

 The 5800C2W convert wired to wireless security system by Honeywell Security


The 5800C2W enables retrofitting existing security systems by; converting their wired sensors to Honeywell’s 5800 series wireless technology, and replacing the existing control panel with a LYNX Touch or LYNX Plus series control. The 5800C2W also works with residential VISTA control panels equipped with a wireless RF receiver and keypad. It saves on installation costs, time and materials since there is no need to replace wired devices with individual transmitters. The calibration feature on the 5800C2W solves a frustrating problem, When converting hardwire to wireless zones, the first thing you need to do is find all the resistors. Many times resistors can be in the walls or buried in the window frame. Tried digging those out? Talk about labor! The 5800C2W has a one button calibration. Press it and forget about resistor issues.  It will automatically calibrate the value from 2k to 9k. Now that’s a labor saver!

5800C2W Keep-in-Mind Guidelines:

  • Since the existing control panel is being replaced, its security functions will be performed by the new LYNX or VISTA control panel.
  • The existing control panel can remain for the purpose of housing the backup battery. Further, the existing control panel can be powered down and the transformer unplugged.
  • The 5800C2W module will charge the battery. This is also a good time to replace the existing battery if needed.
  • At the existing control panel, tag and remove the sensor wires as they will now go to the 5800C2W. Up to nine [9] hardwired zones can be handled by each 5800C2W module.
  • DO NOT mount inside the control panel or other metal enclosure.
  • The integral battery cable fuse MUST be positioned inside the control panel enclosure. The fuse is not replaceable.
  • Before mounting permanently, conduct Go/No Go tests (see control’s instructions) to verify adequate signal strength, relocate if necessary.
  • If necessary, affix the SOC label to the inside cover.
