 Uplink Announces Lifetime Guarantee for all 2G Cell Communicators!


Uplink launched a lifetime guarantee for all of its 2G cellular communicators. Alarm companies will be able to enroll individual Uplink 2G units in the guarantee program for a nominal set monthly fee, according to the company. Should enrolled devices be rendered inoperable by a permanent, carrier-initiated change in the type of cellular service, Uplink will provide an exchange unit to the alarm company. In addition, the guarantee plan includes existing installed products against defects for as long as the communicator is enrolled in the program. The lifetime guarantee is available to alarm companies only.

 New Information on False Alarm Fees in Wichita, KS!


A new ordinance in Wichita, Kansas increases fees for alarm systems to $25 and raises fines. Two free false alarms a year are granted, one for police, one for fire. Thereafter: $40 for two false police alarms; $100 for two false fire alarms. Ten or more false police, $350; 10+ false fire alarms, $750.

A revised ordinance in Lincoln, Nebraska., increases fines for false alarms and mandates alarm system registration. The revision allows six false alarms during a two-year period, but increases the fines – 7 to 15, $100; 15 and above, $250.

Buena Park, California., City Council has increased fees for false alarms. Alarm owners are allowed three false alarms within a 12-month period. THereafter, they will be charged $113. Offenders were previously fined $50 for the fourth false alarm.
