The new L3000PK LYNX Plus wireless security system from Honeywell is now available! Introduced earlier this year, the LYNX Plus from Honeywell is the security industry’s first self-contained wireless residential system that internally supports two-way voice capabilities over GSM and an integrated signal-strength meter. LYNX Plus is a combination control panel, keypad, siren, dialer, two-way voice system and speakerphone. The sleek device supports an internal GSM radio enabling dealers to offer RMR-generating services, including Honeywell’s suite of Total Connect remote services, which allows homeowners to manage their security systems and recieve alerts from Web-enabled mobile devices. LYNX Plus can communicate using standard phone lines, IP transmission and GSM.
“The fast-rising number of cell phone-only and VoIP-dependent homes represents a tremendous challenge for security dealers, both from a sales and support perspective,” said Al Lizza, senior manager product marketing for Honeywell. “Traditional dialer-based alarm systems already don’t work in one-in-five U.S. homes. Dealers who have not installed GSM-enabled systems, therefore, can expect attrition rates to skyrocket. Standardizing on LYNX Plus with a GSM radio allows dealers to address the security needs of any household, and to reduce lifetime support costs and attrition.”
LYNX Plus offers a host of new features to reduce installation time and costs, including:
- A GSM signal strength indicator that allows dealers (or DIY installers) to easily position the device for best location
- A bright, easy-to-read custom backlit alpha display provides system status in plain English with voice annunciation that reduces training time and support calls
- One hardwired zone and a hinged cover that enable cleaner, faster, less costly installations
LYNX Plus also differentiates itself with the option to upgrade with Total Connect Remote Services. This popular suite of web and mobile applications allows homeowners to remotely arm and disarm their security systems. The system can also send emails to alert homeowners to both critical and non-critical events, such as a child returning home from school. When utilized with devices such as motion detectors, IP video cameras (comming soon!), asset protection and environmental sensors such as Smoke Detectors, Temperature Sensors, and Carbon Monoxide Detectors, homeowners can use Total Connect to see a comprehensive picture of events inside and outside their homes.
The LYNX Plus is now availabe in a pre-programmed, easy to install kit from GeoArm for just $274.99. The kit includes the LYNX Plus control panel, 2 5816 door or window contacts, 1 5890PI motion detector, and 1 5804 keyfob, as well as a GeoArm security sign and decals.
Pone line alarm monitoring service starts at $10 per month, however, the LYNX Plus can be upgraded for internet or cellular monitoring through GeoArm and AlarmNet. The 7847i-L internet communicator or GSMVLP cellular communicator can be added right inside the LYNX Plus control panel for AlarmNet service.
